自然現象や生理現象には使うことができない。

自然現象　natural phenomenon　例えば、降る、吹く

生理現象　physiological phenomenon　例えば、泣く、笑う　には使えない。

このような場合には「～止む（やむ）」を使います。

例：雨が降り終わる。　×

　　雨が降り止む。○

赤ん坊が泣き終わる。×

　　赤ん坊が泣き止む。○
