Last week we talked about controlling our mindset. This week we follow up with the result of a changed mind…changed actions. However, self-control isn’t really a fun topic to talk about, much less to instill into your life. Just one more episode, we say. Just one more cookie, chip, soda, slice of pizza, scoop of ice cream…we say. That’s the stuff that New Year’s resolutions are all about, right? But what if we thought differently about “just one more?” How about one more minute of prayer or one more chapter of Scripture? What about praying for one more fellow believer? What about one more message or call of encouragement? What if instead of aimlessly scrolling social media, the news, YouTube, and Amazon, we instead focused on growing and changing into what God is calling us to? If God says we can be new creations because of Him, what do we need to do to continue becoming what He's promised? (spoiler: it’s not easy, but it’s worth it!)
