The news of Texas covered today includes:

Our Lone Star story of the day: President Biden woke up long enough to do an “exclusive” interview with the leftwing Houston Chronicle in which he claimed he had tried hard but could not reach Governor Abbott or Lieutenant Governor Patrick about FEMA relief for Hurricane Beryl. It is a lie and also, we haven’t needed the FEMA supplies yet.
Also, a review of the media shows that CenterPoint is being branded, rightly or wrongly, the scapegoat for problems with the hurricane. There is much more than the story I provided but I have to laugh at the idea that their online outage map is such a big deal. Yes, it is nice to have but it has nothing to do with how quickly the firm works to get power back on. We didn’t even have such things a few years back and yet today, you’d think an outage map was the central issue to saving lives and property – it’s preposterous.
Our Lone Star story of the day is sponsored by Allied Compliance Services providing the best service in DOT, business and personal drug and alcohol testing since 1995.

Local sales tax collections in July report are down statewide. Look up your city here.
U.S. House Judiciary Committee shows anti-trust style collusion between major advertisers to kill off media that even slightly leans conservative. Quotes also show that the movement is more generally anti-United States and its exceptional constitutional protections.
New report gives a much better look at how United Supermarkets, West Texas, and New Mexico will be treated if the Kroger takeover of Albertson’s goes through.
