The Name-Bearer by Natalia Hernandez (Episode 22)
Manage episode 363054084 series 3475234
This week, we read Natalia Hernandez's Latinx inspired, fantasy debut novel The Name-Bearer. In this world, only Name-Bearers can name members of the royal family. How? She must speak to some sentient, mythical flowers, of course. But, when these flowers refuse the name the child born to the queen, our Name-Bearer must escape and find the true heir to the throne. The queen labels the Name-Bearer a traitor to the crown and she must now hide among an elite sect of warrior women where she experiences friendship, found family, and love. Her training as a warrior helps prepare her to embark on her quest to find this Unnamed Prince, clear her name, and bring peace to the realm. We had so much fun with this book and we hope you enjoy the episode!
