Trishul (English: Trident) is a 1978 Indian drama film, written by Salim-Javed, directed by Yash Chopra, and produced by Gulshan Rai. It features music by Mohammed Zahur Khayyam, with lyrics by Sahir Ludhianvi. When Raj's (Sanjeev Kumar) mother refuses to allow her son to marry Shanti, he obeys her wishes, and leaves her in spite of her pregnancy.
