Hey there beachgoers! Ready for a surf zone forecast jam-packed with info? Let's dive in!
For all you Brooklyn surfers hitting up Coney Island Beach and Manhattan Beach today, we've got a moderate rip current risk, 3-foot surf height, and a high chance of thunderstorms coming your way! So keep an eye out for those thunder boomers while enjoying the mid-80s temperatures.
Moving on to our Queens crew at Jacob Riis Park and Rockaway Beach - expect similar conditions with a 3-foot surf, high thunderstorm potential, and a toasty upper 90s max heat index. Don't forget your sunscreen with that very high UV index!
Heading over to Southern Nassau at Atlantic Beach, Long Beach, Lido Beach, and Jones Beach, get ready for mid-80s temps, moderate rip currents, and a chance of thunderstorms. Stay safe in the water and keep an eye out for those changing tides!
And calling all Southwestern Suffolk surfers at Gilgo State Park and Robert Moses State Park - you've got a moderate rip current risk, lower 70s surf temperatures, and a day of partly sunny skies with a chance of thunderstorms. Surf's up at 4 feet!
Last but not least, Southeastern Suffolk beachgoers at Smith Point, Cupsogue Beach, Hither Hills State Park, and Ditch Plains - grab your boards for some 3-foot surf, moderate rip currents, and a mix of sun and a chance of thunderstorms. Keep an eye out for some wild weather!
Remember, stay safe out there, swim near a lifeguard, and don't forget your flotation device. If you see a rip current, float and relax - no need to swim against it! Have a blast catching those waves and enjoying the sandy shores!
