Ahoy there, beach lovers and wave riders! ๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿ„โ€โ™‚๏ธ It's time for your surf zone forecast, straight from the sunny shores of New York! Let's dive in and catch the wave of information rolling your way!
Starting off with Kings (Brooklyn), including the iconic beaches of Coney Island and Manhattan Beach, we've got a high rip current risk hanging around until this evening. So, keep those flippers on and stay safe out there! Today, expect surf heights of 4 to 5 feet, some potential thunderstorms, and a very high UV Index. The surf temperature is in the mid-70s, and the weather will be mostly cloudy with showers and scattered thunderstorms. Highs in the mid-80s, with a max heat index reaching the mid-90s. Winds coming in from the South around 10 mph.
As we look ahead to Thursday, the rip current risk will drop to moderate. Surf heights will be around 3 to 4 feet, still with a chance of thunderstorms, and mostly sunny skies. Highs in the upper 80s, with Southwest winds picking up in the afternoon.
And hey, for all you Southern Queens beachgoers hitting up Jacob Riis Park and Rockaway Beach, similar vibes with a high rip current risk today and surf heights of 4 to 5 feet. Thunderstorms and a very high UV Index are in the mix too. Remember, safety first out there!
Moving down to Southern Nassau with beaches like Atlantic Beach, Long Beach, Lido Beach, and Jones Beach, the story stays the same with a high rip current risk today. Surf heights of 4 to 5 feet, those pesky thunderstorms, and a very high UV Index. Temps will be in the lower 80s, with winds coming from the South around 15 mph.
For all the beach bums in Southwestern Suffolk at Gilgo State Park and Robert Moses State Park, don't forget about that high rip current risk today. Surf heights of 4 to 5 feet, scattered showers, and thunderstorms. UV Index is very high. Highs in the lower 80s, with South winds at 15 mph.
Lastly, Southeastern Suffolk with spots like Smith Point and Cupsogue Beach, today brings a high rip current risk as well. Surf around 4 to 5 feet, some scattered showers, and thunderstorms lurking. UV Index is still very high, so toss on that sunscreen!
Remember, no matter where you hit the waves, stay safe and keep an eye on those rip currents. Always swim near a lifeguard and have a flotation device handy. If caught in a rip, relax, float, and remember not to fight the current.
Surf's up, folks! Catch those waves and ride 'em high! ๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿ„โ€โ™€๏ธ This has been a Quiet Please Studios audio creation with the help of AI. Please subscribe and never miss a Swell! Thank you for listening.
