The boxer in question is Isadore "Izzy" Daniels, a pugilistic prodigy under a lot of pressure from his overbearing dad to succeed and become the third generation of Daniels to win the prestigious golden gloves tournament. Izzy is fine with this, until one day he takes his sister to a jump rope contest and the scales fall from his eyes, revealing to him a whole new world of *checks notes* competitive jump rope. Can Izzy balance his love of boxing and double dutch? Will he find romance with Mary, the feisty leader of local underdog skipping team the Joy Jumpers? Does this movie's narrator think we're idiots?
