MLex’s data-privacy and security team was out in force at the International Association of Privacy Professionals Global Privacy Summit 2023, held in Washington, DC. And there was no shortage of news for our reporters to cover — including the latest chatter on the pesky chatbot ChatGPT. Perhaps unusually, there was also a degree of optimism on the part of those who believe that democracies are converging on data protection, with hope that the privacy chasm that has endangered the legal flow of data between the EU and the US will be bridged.
