260 Jason Gush
Manage episode 428733719 series 3544623
In this episode, Shubz interviews Jason Gush, a self-employed disability worker and passionate advocate for men’s mental health as part of the Amend Movement. Jason opens up about his upbringing on the Kapiti Coast at the lower part of New Zealand’s North Island. He shares the challenges of growing up without his mother, the loss of his sister, and living with a father who, despite being a gang member, tried his best. These experiences contributed to a significant amount of trauma that Jason only later realized.
Jason discusses his move to South East Queensland, Australia, and how much he loves his new home. He bravely recounts a dark period in his life when he attempted to end his own life and how this became a turning point for him. Emphasizing the importance of finding a supportive community for mental health, Jason shares his journey toward healing and self-awareness.
A former junior rugby prodigy, Jason now dedicates his life to his work with the disability community and his mission to save lives through the Amend Movement. Join us for an inspiring conversation with a man who combines strength, humility, and a deep commitment to making a difference.
