AMSTERDAM MOON ROCKS Midi and Dekay introduce the show and talk turns to Midis recent trip to Amsterdam. Midi explains that one of the main aims of his Amsterdam trip was to sample a new type of weed called Moon Rocks, and mentions how expensive it is. It is also extremely potent. There is a good deal of reminiscing on how the price of cannabis has inflated over the last few years. POTENTIAL LIFE ON EUROPA Dekay talks about Jupiters moon Europa, and the fact that it is apparently covered in ice with markings that make scientists think that the entire planet is an ocean, due to the shifting cracks on it’s surface. Dekay makes the point that if it’s full of water, why should it not be full of life as well. There are plans to send something out to investigate further- but not any time soon. It seems they are encountering problems sending robots out there to drill through the icy shell. WEIRD EVIL FISH Midi imagines that there would be some strange, evil looking fish down there. The point is made that even in our own oceans on Earth, there are strange looking creatures in the parts where you can see visible light, let alone at the bottom of the ocean where there is no light at all. HUMAN MOSS Midi thinks that there will be similar types of creatures on Europa. He imagines if there was a type of weird evil sentient moss that could talk, when they saw the drill coming through the ice they would have a humorous dialogue about how they could see something happen, but would be unable to do anything about it. WOULD YOU EAT A GOLDFISH? Dekay explains that she read a book about fish which dispelled the notion that fish have a very one dimensional mindset, and says that they have a complex emotional connection with the other fish around them. Midi makes light of this and says he bets they have relationships and emotions.Dekay says that she isn’t vegan or vegetarian but still has empathy for all sentient creatures. Midi asks if she would eat a goldfish. Dekay says no as there would be nothing worth eating on it. The topic turns to certain types of fish that will try to have a staring contest with you. Midi says he dislikes seeing fish in the supermarket with their eyes intact. Dekay says that it’s too easy to forget what we eat nowadays, as everything in the shops is filleted and neatly packaged. After some discussion on this subject Dekay observes that we don’t eat anything that could eat us. IS THERE ANYTHING YOU EAT THAT COULD EAT YOU? Dekay asks Midi if he eats anything that could eat him. Midi replies that he eats bacteria. This is not accepted as a satisfactory answer. The debate continues and Midi says that we are in a culture in society where we don’t have to go out and hunt and kill our food. Dekay says that we are eating animals that wouldn’t be able to fight back anyway. We eat animals that couldn’t eat us. Midi makes the point that this is similar to hypothetically taking someone from the jungle and dropping them off into London. It is agreed that this would make an excellent reality TV show. SPEAKING OF THAT… WOULD YOU LIKE A DRINK? The different types of sparkling apple juice are briefly discussed. Dekay says her worst habit when drinking (apart from alcohol) is coke. Midi jokes that it’s hopefully not cocaine. Midi says he used to eat the cola bottle sweets, until he found out what gelatine is. Dekay asks how it feels to know that you’ve been eating that. Midi comments that people eat spiders in their sleep. Dekay quickly changes the subject and offers him a new drink someone has given her, which neither of them have tried. The drink is Rum Chata, a 15% rum based liquor. The consensus is that it looks like a Caribbean version of the popular drink Baileys. THROWAWAY, SOULLESS, RUBBISH Dekay says that a lot of the commercial songs she hears sound like throw away, soulless rubbish. She adds it’s interesting how music has evolved, even in their own lifetime.
