In his final appearance on This is Catholicism, Bishop Donald Sanborn covers articles 5 and 6 of Chapter 2 in the Deharbe Catechism, dealing with the death and resurrection of Our Lord. The program will continue with a new host and a new guest, but the same text. A Complete Catechism of the Catholic Religion by Father Joseph Deharbe, S.J. was originally written in German, was very popular in the 19th century, and was translated into English. Bishop Donald Sanborn finds the Deharbe Catechism to be the most complete to convert and instruct people in the Catholic Faith. Part I On Faith (continued) Chapter II. Chief Truths of Faith (continued) The Fifth Article. 'He descended into hell, the third day He rose again from the dead.' 1. What means ‘He descended into hell’? 2. Why were the souls of the just detained in Limbo? 3. Why did Christ descend into Limbo? 4. What means ‘the third day He rose again from the dead’? 5. How did Christ rise again? 6. Did Christ retain in His glorified body any mark of his sufferings? 7. Why has He still retained these marks? 8. Whence do we know that Christ rose from the dead? 9. What effect ought the doctrine of the resurrection of Christ produce in us? The Sixth Article. 'He ascended into Heaven, sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.' 1. What is meant by ‘He ascended into Heaven’? 2. Did Christ ascend alone into Heaven? 3. For what purpose did Christ ascend into Heaven? 4. What means, ‘Sitteth at the right hand of God’? 5.
