Mark Few and the Gonzaga Bulldogs are reportedly in contact with transfer guard Braeden Smith - not the Purdue star but rather a high level distributor from Colgate. Smith played high school ball at Seattle Prep and was a candidate for National Freshman of the Year in 2023 and won Patriot League Player of the Year in 2024, and with two years of eligibility remaining he could step into a starting role for the Zags as a senior once Ryan Nembhard, Nolan Hickman, and Khalif Battle run out of eligibility.

Lisa Fortier and the Zag women's team added a big time transfer in point guard Tayla Dalton, who started 82 games over the past four years with the Saint Mary's Gaels. Dalton is from New Zealand and will pair nicely with incoming freshman Lauren Whittaker and new UConn transfer Ines Bettencourt.
