I’ve been in practice for over 25 years and have counseled over 6,000 people, and no one has ever lost a dime on my watch.
However, there was still a point in time in my business where I hit a ceiling and couldn’t go any farther. I was very successful, but I wanted to reach millions of people. I accomplished this by making my life with a purpose in my business. My purpose is to help you learn what I know and give back.
When I used that purpose to empower my business, everything changed. Opportunities and people showed up in my life that weren’t there before. Setting the “giveback principle” as the base of your business will propel you into places you’ve never been before.
If you’re a business owner, you know that we oftentimes we build our business first and focus on the money. Only after that do we decide where to put that money. That’s usually the way people progress in business, but what we’re talking about today is doing this in reverse. Think about what your giveback—or purpose—will be first. Focus on that and watch your business change. That’s a living legacy. You’re living that purpose—it’s purposeful money, it’s purposeful energy, and a purpose-driven life.

This principle also requires a strategy to implement it, so look at the big picture and work your way backward with a strategy. Remember that strategies are multi-layered because they don’t just pertain to the giveback—they also pertain to your life and income outside of work.
