Christian doctrine states that God's reconciliation of the human to Himself occurs when that human believes the fact that God has punished one's sin by the sacrificial offering of His Son. So, there is nothing the human can do toward their own salvation, as it is only the free grace of God that supplies it. No human work is required for salvation.

But what about after one is reconciled to God? Does that human need to worry about making a mistake or sinning or doing any behavior so egregious that they can't be forgiven? No. The sacrificial replacement for the human's sin has already occurred in the new blood covenant on the cross.

So, does that mean the grace of Christ gives license to continue in and to practice sin? No it does not. We are sanctified and renewed in spirit and in character becoming more like our savior, the one who paid our punishment for us. We need to stop practicing sin, and be renewed in our minds toward Godly and holy living. In this episode, we explore just two such Biblical passages that address this issue; 2Peter 2:20 and Hebrews 6:4.
