Today, on the latest episode of JUST ONE OF THE GUYS: A GREEN LANTERN PODCAST, Thomas Deja (Better in the Dark) and I tackle one of the most important and controversial issues of Green Lantern from this era. In issue 154 of Green Lantern, a senseless hate crime is perpetrated against young Terry Berg, simply because he is homosexual, and he is put in the hospital with brutal, possibly life ending injuries. As Green Lantern, Kyle takes it upon himself to track down the thugs who did this and bring them to justice. But where does justice end and vengeance begin, and will Kyle be able to find the difference?
Plus we also cover the second book of the three part Elseworlds tale, GREEN LANTERN: EVIL’S MIGHT where tensions amongst the poor Irish citizens of New York City and the corrupt bosses of Tammeny Hall start to boil over while Green Lantern Kyle Rayner faces off against his former gang leader Alan Scott. It’s like Gangs of New York met Green Lantern without Martin Scorsese directing it.
