What does progressive Christianity look like in an increasingly secularized world? We sat down with Preston Meyer, the host of the Holy Watermelon podcast and a Sunday school teacher from Canada, who dispels some myths some people may have about Christianity and Mormonism, such as the notion that Mormons primarily go door to door proselytizing or that Sunday school is just for children. We cover topics like whether or not religion is a tool, the role of questioning religious doctrine in the church and how that manifests as tension between Biblical literalists and the Christians who believe Christianity is more about values and a belief in a loving God, whether or not having more Christians in the world would create a more moral society (spoiler: Preston doesn't think so), whether or not it makes sense for Christians to retreat into more secluded communities to protect their values as the mainstream world becomes more secular, and the role of religion in the world in the next 20-30 years.
