In this episode I am joined by the lovely St. Clair Detrick-Jules, the author of "Dear Khloe: Love Letters to My Little Sister". She created this book out of inspiration to teach her little sister how to love her natural hair, regardless of what society says.

*This episode was recorded remotely and there were some glitches/overlapping in the audio at times. I tried my best to edit it but I apologize for any inconvenience to your listening experience.

In this episode we discuss:

  • anti-blackness,
  • Solange
  • the connection of natural hair to political movements
  • the symbolism of the afro
  • the link of hair to identity
  • The Crown Act and the laws against natural hair in the U.S.A.

This book will be available online in May 2020. St. Clair will be hosting events in various cities following the release (you know, once we're able to socialize again!)
