This week, I sit down with one of our cities own Pittsburgh Park Rangers. Ranger Stevie has been working for the Rangers for a handful of years and she stopped by the studio to talk to me about what goes into keeping all of our parks functioning smoothly. Growing up, Ranger Stevie wanted to pursue a career in Physical Education but quickly realized she wanted something more in line with nature after an opportunity to go work for a Wilderness Adventure Outfit in Alaska. After her time there, she came home and decided to pursue a career in Park and Resource Management. This week, we talk about the day to day activities of a Ranger, some history on our parks, some wildlife throughout, and what goes into keeping the parks a safe and beautiful resource for all of us Pittsburgers to enjoy. As a fellow Yinzer, I’m embarrassed to admit I have not visited most of our parks and I’m going to make it a point to check them out. Enjoy the episode.
