Welcome back to A Pod of Their Own, an all-women led Home Run Applesauce podcast where we talk all things Mets, social justice issues in baseball, and normalize female voices in the sports podcasting space.

This week, we begin with the Mets getting the job done in the past week to get right back in the NL Wild Card race thanks to a little help from the Phillies as well. We also discuss the really strong performances from the starters of late, particularly Sean Manaea, the contributions of Jesse Winker, some injury updates, and more.

Next, we talk about Women’s Equality Day, which was on August 26, and resulted in some wholesome highlights from throughout baseball.

Our 2024 Dollars for Dingers campaign is underway and you can make a pledge using this Google spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1n2eZFl_nmzP4C83ccbb61Ggwz2r7m-kapJ6L0SXz4IU/edit?usp=sharing

We also hope to see you on September 21st at EBBS at Citi Field at 1:30pm for our raffle event prior to the Mets game!

Finally, we wrap things up with Walk-off Wins, where each of us talks about what’s making us happy this week, baseball-related or otherwise.

You can listen or subscribe to all of our wonderful Home Run Applesauce podcasts through Apple Podcasts, where we encourage you to leave a review if you enjoy the show. It really helps! And you can find us on the Stitcher app, Spotify, or listen wherever you get podcasts. You can also support our work by subscribing to our Patreon, which will get you bonus episodes, access to our Discord server, livestream experiences, an exclusive monthly playlist, and more!
