Group Medical Visits (GMVs) are a great way for healthcare providers expand their ability to deliver quality care to patients, especially the underserved. Through the use of GMVs, underserved patients can have access to a range of Integrative Health modalities and patient-centered health education in a “high touch” interactive environment. Patients also experience a sense of community and social connections that lead to positive changes in health behavior, physical and mental health, and overall well-being. Today, we talk to Jeffrey Geller, MD, a family physician, chief medical officer Kronos Health in Lawrence, Mass., and president of the Integrative Center for Group Medical Visits. Dr. Geller is one of the most experienced leaders in the group medical visit movement. A nationally recognized expert on GMVs, he is particularly well known for his work in creating the largest group visit program in the U.S., and his ideas about empowerment. He is also on the faculty of the University of Massachusetts School of Medicine and Tufts University School of Medicine. ◘ Related Links Dr. Geller's bio page https://bit.ly/3PWEnhG 2nd Annual ICGMVC Conference: Cultivating Community & Connection: Harnessing the Power of Group Visits https://bit.ly/3vnnPap Integrated Center for Group Medical Visits website https://bit.ly/3Jd2Ywr Information to Make Your Case for Group Medical Visits https://bit.ly/3OJ73cR ◘ Transcript https://bit.ly/3zk5fkI ◘ This podcast features the song “Follow Your Dreams” (freemusicarchive.org/music/Scott_Ho…ur_Dreams_1918) by Scott Holmes, available under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial (01https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0/) license. ◘ Disclaimer: The content and information shared in GW Integrative Medicine is for educational purposes only and should not be taken as medical advice.
