Episode 28 Going Beyond the Land Acknowledgement - Wealth Redistribution and Restitution Beyond Capitalism
Manage episode 442973508 series 3513324
In the Go Smudge Yourself Podcast episode, Jen Green discusses various forms of wealth redistribution and restitution beyond capitalism. Upon noticing that her original All About Land Acknowledgements Episode 25 discussed the why and how of Land Acknowledgements, Jen realized there was a gap in the “What now?” part of the Reconciliation-Based Land Acknowledgement framework. This episode is designed to fill that gap and give listeners the next steps for participating in Reconciliation through wealth redistribution and restitution beyond monetary means. Jen provides examples of how to use money, time, Knowledge, and privilege to participate in Reconciliation and give back to your community in a way that benefits that Nation whose Land you live on. She also discusses the wealth and power gap that makes restitution outside of capitalism so important.

- P.P.S. I want to correct my language when speaking about abortion rights. Rather than saying women’s rights and bodily autonomy, I want to clarify that abortion rights impact anyone with a uterus, including those who don’t identify as women. I apologize ahead of time to any listeners who this impacts!
