Does everything in your business feel like an emergency? More often than not, there is no real emergency yet we find ourselves operating in this constant crisis mode. Why? When operating in crisis mode for long enough, we develop a sense of comfort and emotional addiction to the chaos. This familiarity can cause us to unintentionally seek out or create crises in our lives and in our business. This week’s episode 102 of Female Founders Breaking Boundaries is about breaking free from operating in constant crisis mode.

Have you ever felt like you were WAY too busy, stressed out, burnt out, and overwhelmed, so you were advised to delegate some tasks to take things off your plate and free up some time? Except, maybe it didn't work. If getting out of the day-to-day in your business was as simple as hiring more people, then why are you still feeling overwhelmed and burned out? You are not alone! Sometimes, simply delegating tasks doesn’t work and instead shifts your workload from “doing” to “managing.”

I invite you to use the exercise that our own C-Suite clients use to take the first step in turning your team into a well-oiled, self-managed machine- and get you out of the delegation catch-22. Download the exercise here to get started!

In this episode of Female Founders Breaking Boundaries, I’m sharing ways you can combat crisis mode, move from a reactive state to a proactive state, and avoid burnout in the process. Some of the things I cover in this episode are:

  • Celebrating Tricia Timm, a first-generation Latina who rose through the ranks of Silicon Valley advising high-tech companies and being one of the few Latinas to attain the triple achievement of reaching the C-suite, joining the boardroom, and cracking the VC ceiling.
  • The dangers of operating in crisis mode for long periods.
  • Taking a clarity day to take a step back, set aside distractions, and give yourself space.
  • Lean on your leadership team to identify issues and help resolve obstacles in advance.
  • Formulate a plan B so you can feel ready for anything.
  • How to determine if you’re being reactive or proactive.
  • What's on my mind: It is so important to celebrate others’ achievements because the sum is greater than the parts.
