Our guest, Elena K. Arnold, has written a riveting account of a young girl and her family who experienced the horrors of that terrible war in the town of Czernowitz, Romania. Although the book is technically historical fiction, Elena drew heavily upon the experiences of her own grandmother, Frieda Teitler. The book is entitled: The Blood Years and is the story of love, family, and survival… even under the darkest of experiences.
