In 1961 John F. Kennedy let the world know "that the torch has been passed to a new generation. " Two years later he was assassinated, but the flame from that torch ignited a generation of change and challenge. A country torn by war that generation changed the culture and questioned institutions. President Lyndon Johnson, a career in the Senate and Kennedy's VP, performed one of the most courageous acts of any President; he decided not to run for re-election paving the way for Robert Kennedy's late entry. Bobby was killed, Humphrey a weak VP was defeated by the establishments' crooked candidate Richard Nixon assumed office. History. It is time to pass the torch to the new generation again, with fresh new candidates, who do not have the agenda of staying out of jail for one, or pride for the other. It's time.
