The 2024 Dakar Rally is just around the corner, and Editor Sirish Chandran gets candid with Ashish Raorane, an Indian motorsport athlete who will be racing in the most gruelling rally in the world. They talk about how Ashish got into motorsports with the Indian National Rally Championship in 2015, and his growth as a motorcycle racer. Apart from training on the bike, he also explains the importance of diet, sleep, and other things that are necessary to keep oneself fit for rally racing. He also explains what it takes to race in Dakar; things like previous experiences, the costs involved, the skills, and a whole lot more. And to help him fuel his passion, Ashish also runs an off-road riding school, called Off Piste Racing, where he trains young and new riders and helps them build their careers in off-road racing.
