Why aren't we furious about WHY these people are kneeling instead of being furious that they are kneeling?

Kneeling has become the hot-button topic dejour since Trump blasted out a series of tweets condemning the protesting players as unpatriotic, entitled and disrespectful to the military and first responders.

The narrative has been hijacked by Trump, politicians and the media. This was never about the military. The flag and the anthem are not actually our military and first responders. Those two symbols only play their part in representing our country and culture - and there are people in this country who deem it necessary to display their disproval of the flag and anthem because they want us to pay attention to the injustices playing out in the news cycle regularly.

Are they hateful people who don't care that citizens have died in battle for the very existence of our country and they have the audacity to kneel during the playing of the anthem and the displaying of our stars and bars?

Or are they silently protesting, with respect, during the playing and the displaying of symbols they see as oppressive and denigrative to their culture, their way of life - in some respects, their very existence.

My worry is that instead of doing something about the oppression the African-American (and Muslim, and Asian, and Hispanic and LGBTQE) portions of our society undergo we will just keep getting more and more decisive about this topic while the problem persists throughout our country.
