In this coaching session with an Enneagram Seven, we explore the orientation of positivity and the avoidance of negative emotions as part of her Type-structure. We consider the experience of idealizing a situation and the incredible disappointment that’s experienced when the situation doesn’t meet what we’d hoped for. We talk about how to experience & metabolize emotions so that they don’t keep “hanging out in the passenger seat” unresolved & ignored while we just keep driving on. This Type Seven is a part of a coaching group I facilitate with women that are all in the Assertive Stance, so it was great to have an opportunity to connect with her 1-on-1 in the coaching space.
