Our Mission...
The Mission of Our Place After School Care is to create a caring community that will encourage teenagers with special needs, ages
13-20, to practice academic, social, and life skills and enable them to be involved in community service and enriching experiences.

Did you know? Many youth with special needs will require 24-7 supervision and care throughout their lives. The State of Nebraska helps provide some funding, but many still need to be included.
Parents without significant resources are faced with difficult choices. They can quit their jobs (which often involves going on welfare to provide care for their children) or have to leave their children to the state.
Stress is a factor. Parents are under constant stress. Finding care so that a parent or guardian can go shopping, go out to dinner, or attend an evening meeting is nearly impossible.
Our Place After School Care receives little state funding due to many state regulations. The majority of support for Our Place is provided through grant writing and your generosity.

• Learn how to count change
• Learn to work with the public
• Learn about food safety
• Learn cooking skills
• Learn to work collaboratively
