The Ugandan youth unemployment rate sits at 13.3%. According to the Uganda Bureau of Statistics over 75% of young people are engaged in vulnerable work or are underemployed meaning low earnings, low productivity, and working within difficult conditions. Youth underemployment is a HUGE problem across the continent. In 2015 Vanessa Atim left London to start ProInterns an online internship platform connecting Ugandan students and graduates to employers through internship, volunteering and placement opportunities.
