These Cases Must Go to Trial, Not Just Settle
Manage episode 471855578 series 3461956
I’m thrilled to share this conversation with Scott Montgomery, a partner at Santa Rosa-based Abbey Weitzenberg Warren & Emery.

Scott is part of the exciting shift in trial work. For decades the big deal trial lawyers were primarily pre-Discovery Act or former criminal practitioners. We’re now seeing a wave of younger civil trial lawyers storming the courtroom doors, refusing offers that undercompensate their clients.
Scott’s results read like the introductory speech for a Lifetime Achievement award winner, yet at 39 years old he’s got decades ahead to continue laying defendants low. Over the last two years he’s won a $46 million and a $24.8 million jury verdict for child sex abuse victims. He has already won a CLAY award for the social significance of his results. He’s done this while being a father of a two-year-old with another on the way, and we talk about the tension between parenting and a prodigious practice.
So please sit back and enjoy this wide-ranging and inspiring conversation with Scott Montgomery.
