At Cisco, the environment and sustainability are more than just important. They are the underpinnings of our vision of an inclusive future that takes everyone into account, including future generations. To fully achieve our goals, we have also focused on redesigning our workspaces globally and applying our own Cisco smart building technology and that of our vast partner ecosystems to drive to net-zero. The evolution of our networking and operational technologies, what we call Cisco Smart Building Solutions, combines lessons learned from our years of work with our partners and customers with the latest in wireless and wired networking, PoE powered devices, lighting, shades, HVAC controllers, sensors, cameras, screens and building management systems. The goal is to not only connect, but to interconnect IT and OT systems to help respond and react as the use of the space changes. The foundation of Cisco Smart Building solutions starts with Catalyst 9000 switches and access points. The Catalyst 9000 family powers and securely interconnects the previously unconnected with 90W UPOE+, Wi-Fi 6 and multigigabit technology. Upon that foundation Cisco Smart Building solutions includes the next level of functionality that puts the "smart" in smart buildings: Cisco Spaces location analytics and wireless and wired indoor IoT services -ThousandEyes network visibility -Meraki MV for workspace visibility -Cisco Devices, Meraki and Catalyst APs for environmental visibility -SD-Access security with macro and micro segmentation and endpoint trust analytics -Cisco DNA Center control, automation and PoE analytics -Extensive ecosystem of smart building partners that provide LED lighting, shades, motors, controllers, sensors, cameras and management solutions Learn more https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/solutions/smart-building.html?dtid=opdcsnc001469 Follow us https://twitter.com/CiscoChampion Hosts Richard Atkin (twitter.com/ukricha), ITGL, Solution Architect Sebastian Leuser (twitter.com/sleuser), T-Systems International, System Engineer Sijbren Beukenkamp (twitter.com/sijbrenb), 3Corners, Director/ Owner Guest Jeremy Witikko, Cisco, Director, Sales Business Development Moderator Amilee San Juan (twitter.com/amileesan1), Cisco, Customer Voices and Cisco Champion Program…

Earning a Cisco certification is no easy task. Preparing for exams, in and of itself, is an investment — the cost of study materials, training, and courses, not to mention the time that candidates devote to building their skills and knowledge — all comes to fruition the moment when they pass the exam, become certified, and reach the next level in their IT career. But all of that can (somewhat) quickly fade as their recertification deadline approaches. That open window of three years to recertify suddenly begins to close. In retrospect, the window was much smaller than they had anticipated. And until recently, the only way to recertify was via testing. When Cisco revamped its certification portfolio, new changes to its recertification policy arrived as well. Among several new options to recertify aside from taking exams, the updated policy extends the Cisco Continuing Education Program to certified individuals across all certification levels; previously, an option available solely at the Expert level. Continuing Education (CE) activities are simply learning activities recognized by Cisco to meet the rigor and standard that demonstrate a level of skill, or proficiency. And while accruing CE credits via training and completing courses is a valid approach to recertification, continuous learning is likely, or rather ideally, innate to the IT professional who understands that keeping their skills and knowledge current amid the rapidly changing landscape of IT is critical for their success. The world is marching towards digitization in almost every field. The evolution of mobility and the Internet of Things (IoT) has accelerated digitization. This progress touches nearly every industry and increases efficiency and resilience, but it comes with the cost of increased Greenhouse gas (GHG) and carbon (CO2) emissions. Unless technology and products are designed to be sustainable, carbon emissions will destroy our planet. Increased digitization demands and consumes more of our natural resources. To combat this, the majority of technology companies around the World have pledged to meet the Net Zero challenge. This session introduces the concepts of GHG, the need to make products green, and how Cisco is participating and contributing to make its network products sustainable. The rapid expansion of 5G has led to a diverse threat surface threatening the availability and sustainability of desired low latency outcomes (virtual reality, IoT, 3D video, etc.). One of the newer threats is the attack from rogue IoT and UE (mobile phones, iPads and other 5G attached devices) devices. The resulting increase in bandwidth consumption and diverse flows increased the overall threat surface at the access layer which can potentially expose the entire network to a much larger DDoS attack. With the new Cisco Secure DDoS Edge Protection solution, service providers will now have an efficient DDoS detection and mitigation solution that can thwart the attacks right at the access layer. The solution focuses on 5G deployments, providing an efficient attack detection & mitigation solution for GTP traffic. This will help in preventing malicious traffic from penetrating deeper into the service provider’s network. (2:59) What are DDoS attacks, and how the solutions evolved? With applications and users everywhere, the networks are now, more than ever, being tasked with delivering consistent protection while providing an exceptional user experience across multicloud environments (public, private, and hybrid cloud). The accelerated adoption of cloud-based applications and expanded remote workforce have also created significant challenges, including security and connectivity gaps, as well as unprecedented levels of network complexity that NetOps and SecOps teams could not have anticipated. Organizations are rethinking their networking and security strategies to meet the agenda of delivering a secure cloud-first and seamless hybrid work experience. Organizations now require a solution where networking and security functions are completely integrated into a single service. The solution – that intelligently and securely connects their users to the applications they need, regardless of where they are located. These organizations now turn to Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) to reduce complexity, bring security and connectivity closer together, and optimize experiences for users everywhere. The integration of existing networking, such as software-defined WAN (SD-WAN), and cloud-delivered security technologies (such as SWG, CASB, FWaaS and ZTNA) into a unified cloud-based secure connectivity solution is what constitutes SASE. The essence of a true SASE platform is built on SD-WAN architecture, bringing together SD-WAN’s core benefits with increased cloud security. SD-WAN extends the network perimeter to the end-user and safely connects the distributed users to distributed resources, all without compromising on the application performance. Figuring out the best approach for your network security can be tricky. Which technology should you adopt? How can you reduce costs and complexity, improve user experience, simplify WAN management, and ultimately secure your network better? With over 30 years of experience in networking and security, and recognition as the leader in WAN edge and zero-trust security, Cisco is the trusted partner for your organization wherever you are on your SASE journey. SASE isn’t a one-size-fits-all initiative — and Cisco is uniquely positioned to meet your needs at a pace that is right for you with a complete secure access service edge portfolio. In this episode, we dive into how Cisco+ Secure Connect Now (a turnkey SASE solution powered by the Cisco Security Cloud and the Meraki platform) brings together our best-in-class networking, client connectivity, security, and monitoring capabilities into a single subscription service that will deliver seamless, secure access to any application, over any network, anywhere users work. This turnkey SASE solution is a great option for organizations who want to transition to a single subscription model where they can pay for what they need. No upfront investment or set-up required – just take it and go to everything you need for SASE now. Cisco Radio Aware Routing addresses several of the challenges faced when merging IP routing and radio communications in mobile networks, especially those exhibiting ad hoc (MANET) behavior. This technology has applications in the defense industry as well as state and local government for search and rescue, law enforcement, and disaster assessment. Our existing routing protocols such as OSPFv3 and EIGRP need to adjust their path metrics very quickly to maintain a cohesive operational network. The routing protocol also needs a way to get information from the radios, requiring a radio to router protocol that is delivered by Cisco Radio Aware Routing in the form of two open protocols, which we will discuss here. Tune in to this episode to learn how Cisco Radio Aware Routing provides capabilities that facilitate: • Optimal route selection based on cross-layer feedback from cooperating radios • Faster convergence when nodes join and leave the network • Flow-controlled communications between the radio and its partner router • Efficient integration of point-to-point, directional radio topologies with multihop routing • Neighbor Up / Down Status (3:00) History on Cisco Radio Routing (4:56) Real world applications (7:20) Potential applications in the mining sector (8:58) Other than mining, where can this be used? Your network works for you. Your network has all the data it needs to make it a better network. However, with people coming and going, your network environment becomes a living and breathing entity that is dynamic based on the number of users, the demand for bandwidth and other environmental changes that happen over time. If your network does not adjust to these changes, performance suffers for all devices including IoT and user devices. A solution is needed that continually monitors and optimizes the network to these changes providing the best operational efficiency. Tune in to this episode to learn how Cisco has optimized RRM, leveraging Artificial Intelligence to adaptively optimize your wireless network. As a part of Cisco DNA Center AI-Enhanced RRM uses historical data, AP density and other trends to provide the best wireless experience in a dynamic environment. (3:09) What is AI Enhanced RRM? (4:11) What problems is RRM solving? (5:50) How do you make better decisions with more data? (6:39) It feels like part of AI RRM is going to massively reduce the amount of tailoring we need to do to the networks, right? Because the AI will be able to make better decisions then we were ever able to make in the past (10:34) Is there a dashboard? (12:23) How does RRM share insights and make recommendations? (15:04) Do you get analytics after you implement a recommended change (16:25) We talk about RRM making these decisions. Is it worth running it through the other decisions it can make? What can you expect to change when RRM is making these decisions? (18:45) What about 6GHz? (22:32) Dynamic bandwidth selection (25:50) Can the AI RRM disable radios if it believes this will optimize? (26:14) What is the hardware required in our environment? (29:50) Real world examples in big events (33:50) How many RF profiles can a single instance of AI RRM run? With over one trillion email scams per year, more than 22 billion records were exposed by data breaches in 2021. Phishing attacks are clearly on the rise, and they’re effectively exploiting human and system weakness to compromise critical and sensitive information. Join us to learn more about the latest threat landscape changes, and how the latest innovations in Cisco Secure Email help to mitigate the rise in phishing, business email compromise, malware and ransomware attacks. (2:27) Introduction (6:02) How does the solution help? (9:45) What is this protecting? What is so different about the Cisco solution that Microsoft solution is not already doing? (13:30) How does this solution take the data and start framing it to find consistent patterns and behaviors? (15:45) On one hand cloud mailbox needs to learn behavior in a message pattern of the system, on the other hand we have the ever-shifting piercing attacks. How do you balance that? (17:24) Training exercises: Does this solution have something to help with phishing campaigns? (21:50) How is Marc training his users? (22:45) Are there any integration with Umbrella and Talos? (24:33) There is a shift in phishing attack, using vendor domains. What do we do in such a case? (26:48) What about SecureX? can I manage or monitor my email security solution using SecureX? (29:24) How does the solution handle data loss? (31:37) What about CASB? (32:20) What is Cisco’s plan to combine/ consolidate existing solutions?
