Before "The Matrix", before "Star Wars" even began to understand what sentience of droids even implied, before Hayao Miyazaki even knew how important his work at Studio Ghibli was, the human species was given what Rob describes as the "California Roll" of anime. The sole inspiration for Toonami and the reason anime became something known in North America, and likely the rest of the world, it's quite possibly the objectively best animated film of all time: 1995's "Ghost in the Shell".
