This week I spoke with Teddy Hose who is an artist and writer based in Brooklyn, NY. We spoke on a range of topics from growing up in Bridgeport Connecticut, the history of the church, current issues in energy and politics, the power dynamics in the cult and how we are healing after being labor trafficked in the Unification Church by an para military organization called “Special Task Force” (STF,OLT,GPA). Teddy Hose grew up in the Tarrytown community just north of the city, near the Moon family in the 80s and 90s, before his family moved to Seattle when he was a teen. Teddy was a 2nd generation leader in Seattle in high school, then went on to do STF and attend the University of Bridgeport for 2 years, before transferring to the School of Visual Arts in NYC. He now creates social media videos for television networks career-wise, and his own art on the side, currently music. Teddy is most known for his whistleblower efforts on cults and the Unification Church, having appeared on Netflix’s Explained, A&E’s Cults & Extreme Belief, and numerous podcasts while doing graphic design for the Falling Out podcast.
