One of the most significant events in US history happened in the lonely mountains of Norther Idaho. On paper the story goes as follows:

Rand Weaver and and his wife, Vicki Weaver take their family to the mountains in the West to escape the "Satanic Zionist Government" and to homeschool their children in the ways of the Old Testament

Randy and Vicki become friendly with the Aryan Nation and openly talk about destroying the Federal Government

The Federal Government, who are always listening, catch wind of this and jam Randy up with gun charges unless he agrees to become an informant against the Aryan Nation

Randy refuses and gets indicted on these charges

Randy misses several letters and calls and subsequently his court date and over the course of several years is attempted to be arrested and brought to justice

However, things go south when US Marshalls shoot and kill Randy's 14 year old son and Labrador Styker when doing surveylence on the family....this would set off one of the most damaging stand offs in US history.
