“Therapists are scared of getting it wrong on race”

Research published by the UK parliament has revealed that talking therapies provided by the NHS, including counselling, are less effective for people from ethnic minorities compared to people from a white background. Emma Tracey hears the experience of Ayisha, a British Pakistani woman with mental health difficulties. Emma also talks to clinical psychologist Dr Hibah Hassan, who outlines some of the reasons that underly this reduced success rate.
