Manage episode 430234631 series 3565323
Lloyd Kavanagh is a Senior Partner at MinterEllisonRuddWatts, and one of the most respected financial services lawyers in New Zealand. He has over 25 years' experience in governance, both advising and as a director, in for-profit and not-for-profit, in New Zealand and overseas. Past directorships include AMP Services NZ, Soprole SA (Chile), the Securities Commission, and MinterEllisonRuddWatts. He currently sits on the board of the National Provident Fund.
In this video, Mark Banicevich asks Lloyd about challenges directors face when they sit on boards of subsidiary companies. What unique challenges exist? When can they act in the best interests of the parent, rather than the subsidiary, and when can they not? How do approaches differ across jurisdictions?
