Today's encore episode's honored guest is Dr. Ellen Ochoa, Ph.D., who became the first Latina in space aboard the shuttle Discovery in 1993. Dr. Ochoa eventually became the Director of NASA's Johnson Space Center until her retirement in 2018, and is now Chair of the National Science Board.

Giovanni's work explores race, gender, sexuality, and the African American family.
