The passage is a transcription of an interview in which Rachel Bruno talks about her experience with Child Protective Services (CPS). She explains that she has epilepsy and requires uninterrupted sleep, so she hired a nanny to take care of her newborn son at night. When her son was seven weeks old, she woke up to find him screaming, and the nanny had her hand on his chest, trying to calm him down. Rachel asked if anything happened, and the nanny showed her an empty bottle, saying that she had just fed him and he was gassy. Rachel tried to settle him but couldn't, and when the nanny left, she took off his clothes and looked for signs of any issues. She found nothing and gave him skin-to-skin contact, and he fell asleep on her. The next morning, he wouldn't nurse, and she took him to the hospital, where doctors found multiple fractures in his ribs. CPS got involved and took both of Rachel's children away, and she was threatened with arrest if she didn't hand them over. Rachel's story is one of medical kidnap, and she received a seven-figure sum after mistreatment by the government and various agencies.
