Today, we're super excited to share that we'll be releasing our first episode of a new monthly panel show of the podcast!

After feedback from you guys - our listeners, we decided to break up our in-depth one-on-one interviews and present an open discussion on a specific topic - starting with Activities and Recreation in aged care.

We’ve assembled an international panel of experts and practitioners to share their experiences and insights in this vast field and how we can overcome some common challenges and how we can better engage care recipients.

  • How do you engage residents with limited budgets and staffing?
  • Why is the family the biggest asset in engagement planning?
  • How do you organise activities for residents who stay up late?

We get answers to all these questions and more, as you'll hear the diverse opinions of activities specialists from around the world as we warmly welcome our guests Lee-Fay Low and Maurie Voisey-Barlin (Aus), Orquidea Tamayo Mortera (NZ), Kelly Stranburg and Sara Kyle (USA), bringing their passion and experience to this spirited discussion!

This conversation raises a lot of questions, like the need for spontaneity in activities programs, who’s responsible for engagement and some ways to develop more personal and effective programs for care recipients.

This is a brand new format, you might notice it’s a longer episode, and we loved the free flowing nature of the conversation and this episode also features original music from our host Ash de Neef, which really adds to the mood!

We’ll be presenting these informal conversations with international experts on a range of topics every month - so stay tuned and subscribe!
