Hosted by David Green of The Cultural Alliance Of Fairfield County. In our April 2021 SPOTLIGHT, meet Chris Frántz, co-founder and drummer for Talking Heads and Tom Tom Club, resident of Fairfield since 1985, and author of the recently published memoir "Remain in Love." Chris, with his wife Tina Weymouth, launched Talking Heads in 1974 with former fellow RISD art student David Byrne. In 1981 Chris and Tina created Tom Tom Club as a side project from Talking Heads, as the former group went through its ups and downs. Tom Tom Club's first album, and first single "Genius of Love," was a huge international hit, covered and sampled by many groups since. Based in New York, touring the world, recording in the Bahamas, Chris and Tina moved to Fairfield in 1985 and have been resident musicians since then. Chris has his own show on WPKN Independent Community Radio, and he and Tina record, produce, (and before COVID) tour, and appear at FTC, where the couple helped found the Emerging Artists series. "Remain in Love" is full of sharp observations of places and people as they toured and traveled the world. What is it like now to be a Fairfield resident and part of the scene right here?
