It’s that time of year again… time to test your current fitness in order to set accurate training zones for your base building season.

In this episode we share how we break down the basic metabolic energy systems into ‘sub-systems’ that relate to the training zones that we target in our training programs:

  • Active Recovery
  • Aerobic Endurance
  • Aerobic Threshold
  • Anaerobic Threshold
  • Vo2 Max
  • Anaerobic Power
  • Peak Power

Then we explain our testing method that identifies three key power levels:

  • Aerobic Power
  • Max Aerobic Power
  • Anaerobic Power

With these three data points we can identify a power profile that sets your training zones based on your rate of fatigue that determines your power levels across each zone. Once armed with accurate data you’re able to kick off your 2022 training and know you’re on track for a peak performance!
