Everyone at some point in their life faces challenges. Part of the job as leaders and parents is watching those we manage or care for struggle. Success is sweeter, though, when it is earned. We need to let people earn their success and not try to fix everything that’s painful. In this episode, Nic and Tarina discuss how owning anything starts with owning the work. This means the good, the bad, and the ugly parts. And they admit that even when you play the game by the rules, life isn’t always fair. Together they remember a story about their son and his goldfish, Stitch. His was a life lesson, they say, that he had to learn by going through the struggle. You’ll hear how Nic learned most things through his own failures, and has experienced the magic that struggle, challenge, or pain can bring, whether you’re six or 46 years old.
