It’s no small feat to stare down thousands of years of human culture and perhaps a lifetime of Sunday School before proudly declaring “There Is No GOD.” Whether you’ve taken that step or not it’s an entirely different thing to look at your marriage and accept “they are not my soulmate” or “no amount of sex is going to fundamentally change me as a human” or perhaps harder still “my relationship ended- and it still mattered.” The trappings of purity culture and a christian worldview don’t always die easy and that’s okay- healing is an aspiration, not a destination.
