Autonomy and Abortion: A Legal Question of Self Determination
Manage episode 327369659 series 3293069
With recent reports stating the Supreme Court has written a draft opinion that will overturn Roe v. Wade, this week's topic couldn't come at a better time. Today Myzie and Chan discuss an issue that has been around for millennia-abortion. With the increase of anti-abortion legislation, from six weeks to no rape or incest exceptions, the right to an abortion is in jeopardy in the United States. In this episode the ladies explore the legal justification behind Roe v. Wade, how the current Supreme Court is dismantling what was once considered settled law and what could be the unintended consequences. Regardless of whether you agree with abortion or not, this is a topic that deserves an honest conversation.
