Abubakar Aidarus founded Solargen back in 2010 to provide solar powered solutions to under-served communities.
In this episode we focus on Abubakar’s vast experience in solar water pumping within Eastern Africa, primarily looking at his work in Kenya and Somalia. We start off the conversation by discussing the water situation in these countries including the role that government and the private sector play in water solutions.
He explains how solar water pumping and water dispensers are positively transforming the lives of internally displaced people affected by famine and drought. He shares inspiring examples of how these technologies have provided communities with sustainable water solutions, food security in addition to new opportunities for gaining reliable income.
