Philadelphia police say a 30-year-old woman was driving eastbound on Vine Street when she lost control of her Mercedes-Benz. The vehicle hopped the curb, struck a pole and then slammed into the wall of the vacant building that was once Hahnemann. Authorities say the driver was ejected from the vehicle. She suffered serious injuries to her head and other parts of her body. She was rushed to Jefferson Hospital in critical condition. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
