Finding one’s inner mission and connecting with your spiritual self is a recurring theme on this show. There comes a time in life that compels you to be stale --- to hear the voice within and find divine balance and connectivity. I’m basically talking about self-attunement and mindfulness. For many years Catherine Ann Jones has championed others to find their Dharma. She also willingly surrender to her spiritual path and continues to help others on their journeys through workshops, consulting, writing, and other spiritual interventions. Catherine is an award-winning playwright, screenwriter, actor, and author. She’s written six books, and countless plays and scripts for Broadway, film, and TV. Following her parallel passions for truth-seeking and dramatic self-expression helped her take a spiritual visit to India in her 20s in search of answers to her life questions. It is my feeling that some stories already exist in the ether, and my job is simply to bring them down to the gross level. The best times are when I seem to disappear altogether and the story writes itself. It passes through me, but is not really mine — a kind of visitation if you will.” - Catherine Ann Jones In 2013, Catherine's latest book, Heal Your Self With Writing was published. The book is also about self-healing, grief, and trauma --- a theme she expertly illustrates in the book along with anecdotes, from my own journey. Our lives may be determined less by past events than by the way we remember them. How do we learn to listen more to the stories that heal? How do we put together the pieces of our past? How can we rewrite our life story so that pain becomes meaningful and actually promotes growth and transformation? Heal Your Self with Writing offers a step-by-step journey of discovery and re-visioning through focused journaling, a practice that can enable healing and empowerment. In this way, each reader is able to make meaning out of memory and put the past where it belongs — behind them. Catherine also developed exercises and writing workshops inspired by the 'Heal Your Self With Writing' book to assist, what she calls, the coming home exercise. There are definitely forces of things (good or bad) that occur in your life that leave you bewildered. But evidently, you come to understand that it is part of a process to discover yourself.
