Happy Friday folks! We hope you’ve all had a great week to this point, and hopefully your favorite NFL team got everything you desired in the draft. It was a busy week in the MAC, with the draft being a big part of it, and we’re excited to break it all down for you!

Leading off the news segment this week, the boys discuss the hiring of Wisconsin-Green Bay Athletic Director Charles Guthrie into the same position at Akron. Guthrie will officially take over on July 1st, when current AD Larry Williams steps down. Guthrie comes into an interesting spot with the Zips, as the university is currently dealing with some financial constraints. Hopefully for Zips fans, Guthrie’s history of doing “more with less” will translate to Northeast Ohio.

In some less-than-stellar news, Lance Leipold was announced as the new head football coach at Kansas. The boys break down the implication of the hire for the Buffalo football program, the terrible timing, and what the Bulls need to do to stay relevant moving forward. We’ll certainly be monitoring the coaching search closely.

On the soccer pitch, both the men’s and women’s squads from Bowling Green capped off their incredible seasons with first round exits in last weeks’ NCAA tournament. Both teams put up valiant efforts, with the women falling to Ole Miss on penalty kicks, and the men falling 2-1 on an 82nd minute goal from Monmouth. Certainly nothing to be ashamed of if you’re a Falcon.

In tennis, the fields for both the men’s and women’s NCAA tournament were revealed this week, and the MAC champions learned where they were headed. Men’s champ Western Michigan gets a chance to revenge a loss earlier this season as they take on Notre Dame, while Ball State will take on SEC foe Vanderbilt in their first round match-up. Best of luck to both squads!

Lastly, the MAC Outdoor Track and Field championships are being held this weekend at Miami. We’re excited to break down the results next week. If you’re looking for some sports to hold your interest this weekend, this isn’t a bad option.

To close out the show, the boys break down the results of last weeks’ NFL Draft. Zach and Sam were both surprised that only four MAC players were selected (no Jaret Patterson!?) but they break down the fits for each of the four that did hear their names called. There were also a number of players who signed UDFA contracts after the draft ended - do any of them have a chance to make a roster and make an impact? The boys give their thoughts.

Thanks for stopping by yet again this week, folks. We can’t thank you enough. Listen below, and have a great weekend!
