GLProUK’s Jay Ludgrove (The Jaily Show) and Tony Gordon (How To Write A Tune, Bones Knows) join Flixwatcher remotely to review Jay’s choice Falling Down. Falling Down is a 1993 drama/action film from director Joel Schumacher starring Michael Douglas, in probably a career best as William "D-Fens" Foster. An angry, unemployed, volatile man on a mission to “go home” as he makes a journey across LA leaving a trail of violence while cop-on-his-last-day-on-the-job Martin Prendergast (Robert Duvall) is trying to stop him. Released in 1993 it was misunderstood - read racist as D-FENs targets are African-American, Latino and Korean but watched through 2021 eyes has a lot to say about the MAGA white angry male Trump supporter - blaming problems on immigrants and refuses to see himself as the problem. Scores

[supsystic-tables id=216] Falling Down scores highly across all Flixwatcher scoring categories - a fair few years might have passed since Flixwatcher and guests watched this at a far too young age (why were we allowed to watch these films as children?!!?) to give Falling Down an overall score of 4.41. Highly recommended. Enjoyed this episode? Check out episodes 4 - The Talented Mr Ripley and 12 - Jet Li’s The One for more Jay and Tony film chat!
